An indispensable tool for oil spill recovery

To enable environmental authorities to carry through efficient oil recovery operations, OSIS has developed an application in which the sensor is used as a forward looking instrument during cleanup operations.

The sensor system for cleanup operations consists of a standard module 1 and a module 2 with additional features.

• Module 1, provides the environmental authorities with an onsite tool to manually monitor, track and quantify oil pollution on the water surface. This enables identification and tracking of oil spills and provide the means to secure uinterrupted cleanup procedures day and night.
  
• Module 2, includes additional features providing users with a tool to generate appropriate damage assessment overview. This is important for efficient planning, coordination and execution of cleanup operations.

As a uniques feature, the OSIS sensor system provides information on oil layer thicknesses enabling the environmental authorities to prioritise the recovery process on areas with thicker oil layers.
